MORGAN PRESSEL

In 2006, Morgan Pressel was selected as the seventh recipient of the Nancy Lopez Award. Pressel enjoyed one of the best performances in women’s amateur golf in recent memory. 2005 was highlighted by a win at the U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship. Equally impressive was a second place tie at the U.S. Women’s Open where she was tied for the lead playing the final hole. Morgan played in six additional LPGA events beside the U.S. Open, never finishing below 25th.

Throughout most of 2005 she was both the top ranked woman and junior amateur in the GolfWeek ratings. She was eligible to play in five American Junior Golf Association events last year and won them all. She also won her third consecutive Florida High School title. Morgan also represented the United States on the PING Junior Solheim Cup team.
